A guarantee is rarely dangerous because of its structure — it is dangerous because of its micro-conditions on form, deadline, amount and documents.

Expiry Clause

Clause 1 · Expiry & Lifecycle

HighNegotiation: MediumInternal validated source

What it does

Defines the outer limit of the guarantor's exposure. A calendar expiry date is self-executing and releases the limit automatically; an event-based expiry (final acceptance, delivery, completion certificate) keeps the instrument alive until a document the guarantor cannot control is produced.
